The Alcazaba of Almeria is one of the best preserved Arab monuments in the Iberian Peninsula.

In the year 955, the caliph Abderramán III ordered the construction of this fortress due to its geographical location and thanks to the construction of this incredible military building, the city and the important port of Almeria were raised.

In 1522 a serious earthquake hit the city of Almeria with the destruction of the parade ground of the fortress. The most affected part was rebuilt and today houses an Arab garden.

In addition, the fortress has been used for hundreds of movies and series such as: Conan the Barbarian, Cleopatra, Indiana Jones, Wonder Woman 1984 and Game of Thrones.
